September was full of fantastic opportunities for our team to connect with librarians from around the world at conferences. This month, members of our Melbourne and London offices attended three different conferences and brought a ton of interest, excitement, and insight back from them. In case you didn’t have a chance to meet them, here’s a quick look back at everything that happened.

We love connecting with people dedicated to scientific research, publishing, and education. That’s why our team always enjoys travelling to conferences and tradeshows. These events give us the chance to learn from a tremendous community of professionals, to sponsor the growth of that community, and to discuss the benefits our resources can offer everyone connected. This month we got the opportunity to connect with librarians and scientists from all over the world at three different conferences and, as always, our team had great things to say.

ALIA National 2016 Conference

Members of our Melbourne, Australia team were delighted to catch up with subscribing librarians from all across the country and introduce many others to the benefits offered by the visual format of JoVE Journal and JoVE Science Education.

Throughout the event we saw a great deal of interest in our new resources, particularly regarding the recently released Clinical Skills collections. As a result of this response our Australian team was able to make a number of great new connections and renew many others. We’re looking forward to returning to the ALIA conference next year for the opportunity to speak with even more librarians who may not have had a chance to stop by this year.

MmIT National Conference 2016

Our London, England team got the chance to speak with a fantastic community of UK librarians at this month’s MmIT conference. This event focused on the subject of “Digital Citizenship – What’s the Library’s Role?”, a discussion that JoVE is proud to have both sponsored and spoke on. Members of our London team specifically focused their presentation at this year’s conference on how librarians can help influence the efficiency, productivity, and reproducibility of scientific research.

Outside of our presentation, we were lucky enough to have the opportunity to speak at length with local librarians who have been JoVE subscribers for years and others who are just now learning what JoVE has to offer. Throughout all these conversations we were able to discuss all of our resources with a special focus on providing exclusive previews of JoVE Biochemistry, Genetics, and Cancer Research.

AGMB Annual Meeting Gӧttingen 2016

Reproducibility presentation at the 2016 AGMB conference.

In Germany we were thrilled to deliver a presentation on the tremendous positive impact JoVE’s video articles have on the productivity and reproducibility of scientists. There was an amazing turn-out to this year’s AGMB conference with countless science librarians stopping by to discuss JoVE resources in their institutes.

Getting the chance to meet with all these dedicated librarians and discuss how our videos can help their patrons is always something that our team looks forward to and we wish to thank everyone who came to listen and speak with us at AGMB, MmIT, and ALIA this year. We look forward to speaking with you all again soon!
