The JoVE team is full of passionate, innovative people who are constantly working to make our resources even more valuable and essential for the scientific community. That’s why we’ve always begun team-building efforts from within and why we’re now proud to present our official JoVE Career Path Guide.

When I was first interviewing at JoVE in 2012, the CEO, Moshe Pritsker, said to me “here at JoVE, we like to promote from within”.

As a Human Resource professional, I am very proud that JoVE is a place where employees can advance and grow their careers, both within, and between departments.

In my three and half years with JoVE, I have assisted in the promotion of over 40 employees and helped over 20 employees transition to new careers within the company.

I have been quite impressed watching these individuals grow to become even stronger contributors to the company. One employee started with JoVE as an entry level employee, made a lateral transition to a different department, and now bears the title of Director of Operations, a new position with the company. He will now begin a new voyage building a team of champions.

I must admit that not all promotions are successful, but here at JoVE our philosophy is to find solutions to issues, rather than dwell on them. I recognized that instead of staying up at night wondering what happened to those employees who didn’t succeed, I needed to motivate our current and new employees and continue JoVE’s legacy of growing promising people. I decided that my first step would be to launch a Career Path Guide, outlining the ways that our best employees have found success at JoVE.
