Amelie Tsoutsoulopoulos is a research assistant at the Bundeswehr Institute of Pharmacology and Toxicology, the medical-scientific center of excellence of the German Armed Forces in all matters of medical protection against chemical warfare agents and similar poisons. She received her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in biochemistry from the Technical University of Munich (TUM).

During her doctoral thesis, Amelie Tsoutsoulopoulos focused on the molecular toxicology of lung-damaging agents. For this purpose, a 3R-compliant method for animal testing - the CULTEX® Radial Flow System - was finally optimized and validated with external co-operation partners for the assessment of the acute toxicity of airborne particles.
