Dr. Amiri Moghadam is an Assistant Professor of Mechatronics Engineering at Kennesaw State University. Prior to that, he was a Research Associate at Weill Cornell Medical College, Cornell University where he was working on development of biomedical devices for diagnostic and therapeutic applications. From 2013 to 2015, he was a Visiting Academic at the School of Engineering, Deakin University where he was a leading researcher in the development of bio-micromanipulation systems based on electroactive polymer actuators. Prior to that, he was a lecturer at the University of Applied Science & Technology, and a research fellow at the Research Center for Patient Safety, Mashhad University of Medical Sciences, Mashhad, Iran. He received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Mashhad, Iran, in 2012. He currently serves as an Editorial Board member for journal of Advances in Robotics Research (ARR) and also reviewer for a number of international journals and conferences. His current research interests include Soft Robotics, Biomedical Device Development, Polymeric Artificial Muscles, Dynamics Systems and Control, Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS), Actuators, and Smart Materials and Structures. He has published over 30 peer-reviewed articles in these and related research fields.
