Amos Sharoni

Amos Sharoni is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physics, Bar Ilan University, Israel. He received his PhD from the Hebrew University in 2005, studying the local electronic properties of high Tc superconductors using scanning tunneling microscopy, under the supervision of Prof. Millo.

Prof. Sharoni Performed a Post-doctoral fellowship in the group of Prof. Ivan Schuller, at the University of California, San Diego. During the fellowship he specialized in physical vapor deposition of complex oxides and magnetic thin films, and in nano-fabrication techniques and other clean room procedures. During his fellowship Sharoni initiated two research projects: spin injection in metallic lateral spin-valves and nano-scale properties of the metal-insulator transition in vanadium oxide. In addition, he was group coordinator of an AFOSR project for fabricating and characterizing polymer and organic thin film sensors.

Amos Sharoni current interests include phase transitions in complex oxides, developing materials for spintronic applications, and magnetic manipulation of neuronal networks for bio-interfacing and therapeutics.
