Dr.

Audrey Gerard is a Senior Research Fellow in the Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology, University of Oxford, UK.

She completed her Ph.D. under the supervision of Dr. Jacques Nunes and Prof. Daniel Olive at the University of the Mediterranean, Marseille, France, focusing on the negative regulation of primary and leukemic T cell activation. She undertook postdoctoral training at the Netherlands Cancer Institute in Amsterdam with Dr. John Collard, where she studied polarity proteins and T cell migration. She then moved on to the laboratory of Prof. Matthew Krummel at UCSF, San Francisco, USA, where she continued to work on the molecular mechanism of T cell migration in vivo using 2-photon microscopy. In addition, she developed a broader interest in the spatio-temporal behaviour of T cells during infection and vaccination. In particular, she described a specific period during which T cells directly communicate through cytokine secretion to control each other's fate.

Audrey Gerard joined the Kennedy Institute of Rheumatology in June 2016 as a group leader, where she is still exploring the dynamics of T cell communication during infection and cancer.
