Camille R. Brightwell

Camille Brightwell is a Post-Doctoral Fellow in the Department of Athletic Training and Clinical Nutrition at University of Kentucky. She received her undergraduate degree in Exercise Science from Texas A&M University- Corpus Christi, an M.S. in Exercise and Health Sciences from University of Houston- Clear Lake, and a Ph.D. in Cell Biology from University of Texas Medical Branch.

Dr. Brightwell’s training and research at University of Texas Medical Branch and University of Kentucky has focused on molecular mechanisms regulating skeletal muscle plasticity in response to exercise, injury, and rehabilitation. These studies have included human clinical samples and multiple transgenic mouse models of overload-induced skeletal muscle hypertrophy and injury.
