ERI BIOTECMED Universidad de Valecnia Biography Publications Institution JoVE Articles Cristina Gil SanzAssistant Professor Cristina Gil-Sanz earned a degree in Biology from the University of Valencia in 2001, receiving the Special Award of Degree. In 2002 she joined the laboratory of Alfonso Fairén at the Instituto de Neurociencias of Alicante to pursue her PhD in Neuroscience. There she worked characterizing the role of a metabotropic glutamate receptor (mGluR1) regulating cortical development and associative learning and synaptic plasticity in the hippocampus. After graduation in 2008 she joined the Müller laboratory at The Scripps Research Institute in California. In the Müller laboratory she worked studying the mechanisms regulating neuronal migration and neural stem cell specification. In 2016 she was recruited by Jonhs Hopkins University in Baltimore as Research Assistant Professor and in 2017 she joined the Universidad de Valencia, Department of Cell Biology as a Ramón y Cajal Asisstant Professor.
