SvecGraduate Student Kathryn Svec is a Graduate Student in the Howe Laboratory in the Cellular, Molecular, and Biomedical Sciences graduate program at the University of Vermont in Burlington, Vermont. Prior to continuing her education, she worked as a Laboratory Technician in the Garrity Lab at the National Center for Behavioral Genomics at Brandeis University. She received her undergraduate degree in biochemistry at Wheaton College in Norton, Massachusetts.Kathryn is interested in the molecular mechanisms that allow for complex cellular processes to occur. In the Howe Laboratory, she applies this interest to the process of mechanically gated cell migration. Kathryn is a microscopist interested in visually illustrating the remarkable and complex processes involved in cell migration.
