She received her BA from the University of Florida and has worked for the Florida Museum for the last ten years. Her focus is on conservation work, specifically the ongoing work with the Miami Blue butterfly (Cyclargus thomasi bethunebakeri) and the Schaus Swallowtail butterfly (Heraclides aristodemus ponceanus), among other species.
