The journey from gene regulation to development and disease has been the focus of my research so far.

I approached transcriptional regulation in the context of neurodegeneration during my Bachelor and my Master thesis, when I investigated the contribution of nuclear Tau to gene deregulation in the onset of tauopathies. I graduated in Biological Sciences in 2016 and in Cellular and Molecular Biology in 2018 at the University of Pisa. Meanwhile, I was also enrolled in the class of Biological Sciences at the Scuola Normale Superiore.

Currently, I am pursuing the investigation into gene regulation in the nucleus in my PhD in Genome Biology at EMBL Heidelberg, by dissecting the intertwining of transcription factors in Drosophila development.
