Martina Varisco Genome Biology EMBL Heidelberg Biography Publications Institution JoVE Articles Martina VariscoPhD student The journey from gene regulation to development and disease has been the focus of my research so far.I approached transcriptional regulation in the context of neurodegeneration during my Bachelor and my Master thesis, when I investigated the contribution of nuclear Tau to gene deregulation in the onset of tauopathies. I graduated in Biological Sciences in 2016 and in Cellular and Molecular Biology in 2018 at the University of Pisa. Meanwhile, I was also enrolled in the class of Biological Sciences at the Scuola Normale Superiore.Currently, I am pursuing the investigation into gene regulation in the nucleus in my PhD in Genome Biology at EMBL Heidelberg, by dissecting the intertwining of transcription factors in Drosophila development.
