Mukul Girotra
Scientist

Dr. Mukul Girotra received his Masters in Biology from the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, India and his PhD in Bioengineering from the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, Switzerland. His doctoral work focused on metabolic regulation of hematopoietic stem cell (HSC) function, where he established the role of mitochondrial activity in determining HSC fate. As a scientist now at the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research he studies mouse and human hematopoietic stem cell metabolism in the context of aging, hematological malignancies and cancer-immunotherapy. He collaborates with pharma and healthcare industry to find novel nutritional candidates to boost HSC function.
