Sankara Arunachalam

Sankara Arunachalam is working as a Research Specialist at Water Desalination and Reuse Center (WDRC), King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) in Saudi Arabia. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Anna University and a Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore.

Sankara started his carrier as a Research Engineer at BEML Ltd, India, and moved to KAUST to work with Prof. Mishra’s interfacial laboratory. His current research work focuses on the design, fabrication, and experimentation of bio-inspired microtextures for drag reduction, membrane distillation, and mitigating cavitation erosion. Articles based on his work have appeared in Nature Communications, Science Advances, Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, and Journal of Membrane Science.
