Susan M. Mingils

Susan Mingils is a Ph.D. candidate in the Occupation and Rehabilitation Science program at Colorado State University under the co-mentorship of Dr. Patricia Davies and Dr. Jaclyn Stephens. Susan is a board-certified music therapist with experience in inpatient rehabilitation, pediatric outpatient rehabilitation, memory care, mental health, and special education settings. She is currently a graduate research assistant in the Sports Concussion and Occupational REhabiliation (SCORE) Lab, Brainwaves Research Lab, and Transition, Employment, and Technology (TET) Lab at Colorado State University. She has experience collecting and analyzing electroencephalography (EEG) and functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) data. Her research interests include music perception, music for cognitive rehabilitation, and music therapy for traumatic brain injury. Susan’s dissertation research will examine the underlying neural mechanisms of rhythmic entrainment to inform music therapy interventions.
