Dr Zimei Wu is an Associate Professor at the School of Pharmacy, The University of Auckland, New Zealand (NZ). She hold a MSc degree from China Pharmaceutical University and a PhD from University of Otago (NZ). In 1999, she came to School of Pharmacy, University of Otago as a visiting scholar where she later on commenced her PhD followed by postdoctoral research. In 2009, Dr Wu was appointed as a lecturer at School of Pharmacy, University of Auckland, where she teaches and researches in all aspects of pharmaceutical sciences. In the past 10 years she has focused on design and engineering of nano-vesicles such as liposomes, noisomes, and liposomes-exosome hybrids with biological functions to target disease hallmarks (receptors, transporters, low pH, redox potential), and understanding of cellular trafficking of nano-systems.

Dr Wu is the immediate Past President of NZ Chapter of Controlled Release Society (CRS), and serves on the Editorial Boards of Journal of Liposome Research and Pharmaceutical Development and Technology, Biomaterials Science etc, and has been a referee for more than 20 research journals.
