Protocol for the Differentiation of Human Induced Pluripotent Stem Cells into Mixed Cultures of Neurons and Glia for Neurotoxicity Testing Francesca Pistollato1, David Canovas-Jorda1, Dimitra Zagoura1, Anna Price1 1Directorate F - Health, Consumers and Reference Materials, Joint Research Centre Human induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSCs) are considered a powerful tool for drug and chemical screening and for the development of new in vitro models for toxicity testing, including neurotoxicity. Here, a detailed protocol for the differentiation of hiPSCs into neurons and glia is described.
A Novel Technique for Raman Analysis of Highly Radioactive Samples Using Any Standard Micro-Raman Spectrometer Jean-Yves Colle1, Mohamed Naji1, Mark Sierig1, Dario Manara1 1European Commission, Joint Research Centre (JRC) We present a technique for Raman spectroscopic analysis of highly radioactive samples compatible with any standard micro-Raman spectrometer, without any radioactive contamination of the instrument. We also show some applications using actinide compounds and irradiated fuel materials.
