A Suppressor Screen for the Characterization of Genetic Links Regulating Chronological Lifespan in Saccharomyces cerevisiae Christie Dix1, Susan Sgro1, Anup Patel1, Carly Perrotta1, Noor Eldabagh1, Katherine L. Lomauro1, Fredy W. Miguez1, Prianka Chohan1, Charmi Jariwala1, James T. Arnone1 1Department of Biology, William Paterson University Here is a protocol to identify genetic interactions through an increased copy number suppressor screen in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. This method allows researchers to identify, clone, and test suppressors in short-lived yeast mutants. We test the effect of the copy number increase of SIR2 on lifespan in an autophagy null mutant.
Generation of Zerovalent Metal Core Nanoparticles Using n-(2-aminoethyl)-3-aminosilanetriol Bhanu P. S. Chauhan1, Swetha Matam1, Qiaxian R. Johnson1, Aarti Patel1, Kelly Moran1, Benjamin Onyechi1 1Department of Chemistry, William Paterson University A novel method for metal core nanoparticle synthesis using a water stable silanol is described.
