Technique for Obtaining Mesenchymal Stem Cell from Adipose Tissue and Stromal Vascular Fraction Characterization in Long-Term Cryopreservation Leniza Pola-Silva1,2, Fabio Xerfan Nahas3, Flavia Nascimento2, Tatiana Rabelo Santos2, Andrea Moraes Malinverni1, Adelson Alves2, Lydia Masako Ferreira3, Maria Isabel Melaragno1 1Genetics Division, Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP), 2TechLife Biotech, São Lucas Cell Therapy Group, 3Division of Plastic Surgery, Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP) The present protocol describes an improved methodology for ADSC isolation resulting in a tremendous cellular yield with time gain compared to the literature. This study also provides a straightforward method for obtaining a relatively large number of viable cells after long-term cryopreservation.
3D Bioprinting of Murine Cortical Astrocytes for Engineering Neural-Like Tissue Bruna A. G. de Melo1, Elisa M. Cruz1, Taís N. Ribeiro1, Mayara V. Mundim1, Marimelia A. Porcionatto1 1Department of Biochemistry, Escola Paulista de Medicina, Universidade Federal de São Paulo Here we report a method of 3D bioprinting murine cortical astrocytes for biofabricating neural-like tissues to study the functionality of astrocytes in the central nervous system and the mechanisms involving glial cells in neurological diseases and treatments.
