周囲の

腫瘍周囲領域への腫瘍細胞浸潤を特徴とする浸潤性腫瘍である再発性神経膠芽腫と診断された麻酔をかけられたヒト患者から始めます。

腫瘍周囲領域には無傷の血液脳関門 (BBB) が保持されており、内皮細胞間の緊密な接合部が薬物の浸透を制限します。

頭皮を切開し、頭蓋骨に開口部を作り、MRIガイドを使用してレーザープローブを腫瘍コアに挿入します。

プローブにレーザー光を照射します。

組織発色団は光を吸収して熱に変換し、局所的な温熱療法または組織温度の上昇を引き起こします。
