Intestinal Mucosa: Lining of the Intestines, consisting of an inner Epithelium, a middle Lamina propria, and an outer Muscularis mucosae. In the Small intestine, the mucosa is characterized by a series of folds and abundance of absorptive cells (Enterocytes) with Microvilli.
