Collection Overview

Photo-enabled synthesis of novel and advanced materials has attracted intensive attention in the renewable energy fields, especially in energy harvesting, storage, and utilization. From artificial light sources to natural sunlight, from single-wavelength treatment to wide spectrum exposure, from focused spot targeting to large-area irradiation, from hours of reaction to femtosecond fabrication, a wide range of fascinating material designs in energy-related applications has been inspired by the great flexibility of the photo-enabled synthesis methods and technologies, which provides insights for the flexible and sustainable production of practical materials in renewable energy applications.

This methods collection invites researchers to report recent methods or techniques in the fields of photo-enabled synthesis of materials in the renewable energy applications, ranging from, but not limited to, the fields of energy harvesting and conversion technologies, energy storage devices, and energy utilization solutions. Novel and established synthetic approaches, material characterization methods, and renewable energy devices enabled by photo-related technologies, as well as fundamental and theoretical understandings of light-material interactions, are also welcome for this collection.
