YoneJung Yoon

Affiliation: Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai

Dr. Yoon's research interests involve the characterization of the molecular and cellular mechanisms of neuroinflammation in intracerebral hemorrhage. In pursuit of this interest, she has received intensive training in molecular and cellular neuroscience using various animal models during a biology Ph.D. at the University of Vermont and postdoctoral fellowship at Mount Sinai.  Dr. Yoon's training has afforded her an opportunity to develop expertise in animal microsurgeries such as middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO), animal behavior test, molecular and cellular biology techniques, histochemical techniques, and electrophysiological techniques. Her current work focuses on the pathophysiology in the reconstruction of microglia inflammation after brain injury.
