Gillipsie Minhas earned her Ph.D. in Neurosciences (2016) at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, India with a fellowship from the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research. During her Ph.D. she studied the role of bone marrow-derived stem cells in a mouse model of retinal ischemia. Following her Ph.D., she joined an Immunology lab in the Department of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics at the University of Hyderabad as a Research Fellow and was engaged in novel nanoparticle-based delivery systems for vaccines and drugs and analyzed the immune response generated in a mouse model using various molecular techniques. Later she joined the Department of Bio-Medical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Hyderabad under the National Post-Doctoral Fellowship scheme of Science and Engineering Research Board, Department of Science and Technology. During her scientific career, she has published research and review articles in different peer-reviewed national and international journals. She was also awarded a traveling fellowships to present her research at international conferences. Currently, she is pursuing her career in science communication and is associated with Cactus Communications as a freelance editor.
