Mohammed Abu Hilal

Mohammed Abu Hilal (1971) is a pioneer in both pancreatic and hepatic minimal invasive surgery. With over 100 publications on these topics, he is internationally seen as a key opinion leader in the field of pancreatic and hepatic malignancies. He has coordinated or is currently coordinating multiple randomized controlled trials (ORANGE, ORANGE II, DIPLOMA). As chairman of innovation and development committee of European Hepatobiliary Association, chairmen membership committee of International Laparoscopic Liver Society and member of the Education committee in both European-African Hepato-Pancreatic-Biliary Association and the European Association for Endoscopic Surgery, he is involved in the development of guidelines and implantation programs to ensure the expansion of laparoscopic pancreatic and liver surgery. Currently, he is holding the position of Professor of Hepatobiliary Pancreatic and minimally invasive Surgery at the University of Southampton.
