A nationally reviewed study in <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CBE\u2014Life Sciences Education<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> found that more than 80% of college-level students held at least one misconception about photosynthesis, including misunderstanding the role of light energy and the formation of glucose (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lifescied.org\/doi\/10.1187\/cbe.11-07-0054\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">source<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">). These conceptual gaps begin well before college and often stem from an overreliance on textbook instruction. Yet, studies show it remains one of the most misunderstood topics in biology.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A 2009 study published in <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CBE\u2014Life Sciences Education (<\/span><\/i><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lifescied.org\/doi\/10.1187\/cbe.11-07-0054\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">source<\/span><\/i><\/a><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">)<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> found that many students have misconceptions about photosynthesis, particularly around energy conversion and glucose synthesis.
