8.6: 丙酮酸氧化

糖酵解后,带电荷的丙酮酸分子通过主动转运进入线粒体,进行三种酶促反应。这些反应确保丙酮酸盐可以进入下一个代谢途径,这样储存在丙酮酸分子中的能量就可以被细胞利用。

首先,丙酮酸脱氢酶从丙酮酸中除去羧基,并将其释放为二氧化碳。剥离的分子然后被氧化并释放电子,然后被NAD+吸收产生NADH,形成乙酸盐。

最后,辅酶A是从B族维生素中提取的含硫化合物,通过其硫原子附着在乙酸盐上,生成乙酰辅酶A或乙酰辅酶A。乙酰辅酶A然后进入柠檬酸循环,在那里它将被进一步氧化。
