21.3: 细胞内激素受体

脂溶性激素扩散穿过靶细胞的血浆和核膜以结合其特异性细胞内受体。这些受体充当转录因子,其调节靶细胞中的基因表达和蛋白质合成

根据其作用方式,细胞内激素受体可分为I型或II型受体。I型受体,包括类固醇激素受体,如雄激素受体,存在于细胞质中。激素结合将激素受体复合物转运到细胞核,在那里它结合到被称为激素反应元件的调控DNA序列,并激活基因转录。

II型受体,如甲状腺激素受体,即使在没有激素的情况下,也与细胞核内的DNA反应元件结合。在这种状态下,受体充当转录的活性抑制因子。然而,在激素结合时,受体-激素复合物激活甲状腺激素诱导基因的转录。
