Halpern and co workers (Haifa University, Israel) regarding to their evidence that egg masses of the non-biting midge Chironomus sp. harbor the pathogenic bacterium Vibrio cholerae and act as its sole carbon source, thereby providing a natural reservoir of this bacterium.  Here is a list of their articles on the subject.
