Ultrasound-assisted oxidative desulfurization of bunker-C oil using tert-butyl hydroperoxide.

This work investigated the ultrasonic assisted oxidative desulfurization of bunker-C oil with TBHP/MoO3 system. The operational parameters for the desulfurization procedure such as ultrasonic irradiation time, ultrasonic wave amplitude, catalyst initial concentration and oxidation agent initial concentration were studied. The experimental results show that the present oxidation system was very efficient for the desulfurization of bunker-C oil and ~35% sulfur was removed which was dependent on operational parameters. The application of ultrasonic irradiation allowed sulfur removal in a shorter time. The stronger the solvent polarity is, the higher the sulfur removal rate, but the recovery rate of oil is lower. The sulfur compounds in bunker-C oil reacted with TBHP to produce corresponding sulfoxide, and further oxidation produced the corresponding sulfone.

Sinojackia sarcocarpa L.Q. Luo has high aesthetic value, which is clinically used to treat diseases such as the variations of arthritis, thromboangiitis obliterans, angina pectoris as well as many other diseases. Pentacyclic triterpenoids are the main pharmacological effective compounds. High-speed counter-current chromatography method was performed on a Midi-DE centrifuge at 25°C. The solvent system was n-hexane-ethylacetate-methanol-water (10:5:3:1, v/v). Peak fractions were collected according to the elution profile for subsequent high-performance liquid chromatography analysis. The structure identification was performed by ultraviolet, infrared, mass spectrometry, (1)H-NMR and (13)C-NMR. Compound 2?,3?,19?,23?-tetrahydroxyurs-12-en-28-oic acid and 2?,3?,23?-trihydroxyurs-12-en-28-oic acid were purified from the plant of Styracaceaen genius for the first time, whose purities were 96.57% and 97.33%, respectively. Compared with the same dose of oral 5-fluorouracil with 57.6% inhibition rate, the S(180) tumour inhibition rates of 20 mg kg(-1)d(-1) two compounds were 59.5% and 48.9%, respectively.

The main chromatographic fingerprint peaks of Rhizoma gastrodiae were established for evaluating the stability of chemical compositions of Rhizoma gastrodiae with 60Co-gamma irradiation to control the dosage of 60Co-gamma irradiation sterilization by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Eight Rhizoma gastrodiae samples were analyzed. The chromatographic fingerprints of Rhizoma gastrodiae were constructed with 14 common fingerprint peaks, and its 10 main peaks were identified using the similarity evaluation system of chromatographic fingerprints of traditional Chinese medicine (version 2004 A) recommended by State Food and Drug Administration of China. The relative standard deviations of the peak areas of the 10 main peaks were used to evaluate the stability of corresponding chemical compositions of Rhizoma gastrodiae with 60Co-gamma irradiation. The results showed that the compositions of 3 of the 10 main peaks were influenced and a good relationship was obtained between the influence and 60Co-gamma irradiation doses for the eight Rhizoma gastrodiae samples. Some chemical components of Rhizoma gastrodiae werent steady after 60Co-gamma irradiation, so a low dosage should be selected for 60Co-gamma irradiation sterilization.

Natural products represent an important source for agents of cancer prevention and cancer treatment. More than 60% of conventional anticancer drugs are derived from natural sources, particularly from plant-derived materials. In this study, 2?, 3?, 19?, 23?-tetrahydroxyurs-12-en-28-oic acid (THA), a novel triterpenoid from the leaves of Sinojackia sarcocarpa, was isolated, and its anticancer activity was investigated both in vitro and in vivo.

In these cases, our algorithms are trying their best to display videos with relevant content, which can sometimes result in matched videos with only a slight relation.
