Lopes is a PhD candidate in Cell Biology Graduate Program, Morphology Department, Biological Science Institute, Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil. He graduated in Biological Sciences in 2016 at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG). In 2018 obtained their Master's degree in Biochemistry and Immunology at UFMG.During their undergrad and master's period he received scholarships, travel and presentations awards from UFMG, Brazilian Society of Immunology (SBI) and Society for Mucosal Immunology (SMI). From the third undergrad period until their Master degree their focus was in the mutual relationship between the host microbiota and innate immune response, focusing in Macrophage activation and plasticity. Nowadays, he is focus in Kupffer cell biology during acute liver failure using Intravital Microscopy as main technique approach.
