Bernard Pei Cheng Kok Molecular Medicine The Scripps Research Institute Biography Publications Institution JoVE Articles Bernard Pei Cheng Kok After graduating with a Phd in Biochemistry specializing in lipid metabolism, I joined the Saez lab where we use chemical biology techniques to investigate novel pathways and proteins that impact metabolic diseases. Using functionalized small molecules in enzyme- and cell-based assays, we are able to identify novel targets and any relevant chemical modulators, which can be tested in vivo for physiological efficacy.
