Transition Metals in the Periodic Table

Transition metals are the d-block elements and the inner transition metals in the f-block. They are defined by partially filled d orbitals. In the periodic table, the transition elements are in groups 3 through 11, and the inner transition metals appear in the two rows below the main body of the table.
