Nucleic Acids

الأحماض النووية

تعد الأحماض النووية أهم الجزيئات الكبيرة لاستمرارية الحياة. فهي تحمل المخطط الجيني للخلية وتحمل التعليمات الخاصة بوظائفها. 
 DNA و RNA
 النوعان الرئيسيان من الأحماض النووية هما الحمض النووي الريبي منقوص الأكسجين (DNA) والحمض النووي الريبي (RNA). الحمض النووي هو المادة الجينية في جميع الكائنات الحية، بدءاً من البكتيريا وحيدة الخلية إلى الثدييات متعددة الخلايا. إنه موجود في نواة حقيقيات النوى وفي العضيات والبلاستيدات الخضراء والميتوكوندريا. في بدائيات النوى، لا يتم تغليف الحمض النووي في غلاف غشائي.
