يعتبر العنصر الصغير للحزمة المنشورية الذي تعمل عليه قوى القص الرأسية والأفقية ، جنبا إلى جنب مع القوى العادية ، لتحليل القص على وجه أفقي.
باستخدام معادلة التوازن ، يتم فحص توازن القوى المؤثرة على هذا العنصر لتحديد قوة القص الأفقية. ثم تساوي هذه القوة لحظات الانحناء واللحظة الأولى من المقطع العرضي.
ينتج عن تحليل العنصر السفلي أو العلوي نفس النتيجة ، حيث أن قوى القص التي تمارس على بعضها البعض متساوية في الحجم ولكنها معاكسة في الاتجاه.
لوحظ أيضا أن اللحظة الأولى للجزء الموجود أسفل خط معين في الحزمة متساوية في الحجم ولكنها معاكسة في الإشارة إلى اللحظة الأولى من الجزء أعلاه.
تصل اللحظة الأولى إلى الحد الأقصى عندما تساوي المسافة من المحور المحايد صفرا ، حيث تساهم العناصر الموجودة فوق المحور المحايد بشكل إيجابي في جزء التكامل من معادلة قوى القص الأفقية ، بينما تساهم العناصر أدناه سلبا.
عندما يتم تقسيم القص الأفقي على طول العنصر ، يتم الحصول على تدفق القص.

 ومن المهم أن نلاحظ أن العزم الأولي لمقطع العارضة أسفل خط معين هو نفس العزم الأولي للمقطع الذي فوقه، سواء من حيث المقدار أو الاتجاه. يصل هذ العزم الأولي إلى الحد الأقصى عند المحور المحايد للعارضة. هنا، تساهم الأقسام الموجودة فوق المحور المحايد بشكل إيجابي في حساب قوى القص الأفقية، بينما تساهم الأجزاء الموجودة أدناه بشكل سلبي. يتضمن حساب تدفق القص تقسيم القص الأفقي على طول عنصر العارضة. يعد فهم هذه العملية أمرًا حيويًا لتوفير رؤية شاملة لكيفية عمل القص على المستوى الأفقي داخل العارضة، وهو أمر بالغ الأهمية لتقييم السلامة الهيكلية ومتطلبات التصميم لعناصر العارضة في المشاريع الهندسية.

beam shear flow from bending moments

Beam shear flow comes from the horizontal shear that acts on a prismatic beam element. The element is also acted on by vertical shear forces and normal forces. To study this behavior, the beam is divided into upper and lower sections by the neutral axis.

The force balance on the small element is written with an equilibrium equation. That step reveals the horizontal shearing force. This force is tied to the bending moments and to the cross-section’s first moment of inertia.

The same result is obtained whether the upper section or the lower section is used. The shear forces are equal in magnitude but point in opposite directions. The first moment of the area below a chosen line matches the first moment of the area above it in magnitude and direction.

This first moment is largest at the neutral axis. Sections above the neutral axis add positively to the horizontal shear calculation. Sections below the neutral axis add negatively.

Shear flow is found by dividing the horizontal shear by the length of the beam element. This makes it easier to describe how shear acts on a horizontal plane inside the beam. Understanding this relationship helps with structural integrity checks and beam design in engineering projects.
