Testosterone and male reproductive control depend on a hormone signal from the brain. The hypothalamus releases gonadotropin-releasing hormone, or GnRH. GnRH tells the pituitary gland to release follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH).
