肘关节的解剖结构复杂,是由三块骨骼——肱骨、桡骨和尺骨之间的关节连接形成的铰链关节。其稳定性由外侧和内侧副韧带复合体维持。

参与肘关节运动的肌肉根据其功能进行分类。屈肌群包括肱二头肌、肱肌和肱桡肌。伸展功能由后侧肌肉——肱三头肌和肘肌——完成。前臂旋前由肱桡肌和旋前圆肌参与完成。最后,前臂旋后则由肱二头肌、肱桡肌以及旋后肌共同参与。
