Bacterial Doubling Time

Bacterial generation time is the time needed for a bacterial population to double during exponential growth. It is a useful measure of microbial growth under optimal conditions. The rate can vary a lot from one species to another, and it can be affected by temperature, pH, and nutrient availability.

例如，如果一个细菌培养物从1,000个细胞开始，在3小时（即180分钟）内增长至64,000个细胞，则计算得出的世代数为6。
