The Scope of Physics

Physik ist das Studium der Natur und der Gesetze, die uns helfen, alle natürlichen Phänomene zu verstehen. Denn alles besteht aus Materie und Energie und interagiert in Raum und Zeit.
Prinzipien der Physik sind Schlüsselelemente in vielen wissenschaftlichen Disziplinen. In der Chemie werden sie eingesetzt, um die Wechselwirkungen von Atomen und Molekülen zu untersuchen. In vielen Ingenieurszweigen nutzen wir die Gesetze der Physik, um neue Technologien und Geräte zu entwickeln.
Die Physik beschreibt auch die chemischen Prozesse, die im menschlichen Körper ablaufen und die Entwicklung von Techniken und Geräten ermöglichen, die in den biologischen und medizinischen Wissenschaften eingesetzt werden.
Die Gesetze der Physik werden von allen Disziplinen verwendet, und das Studium der Physik trägt wesentlich zu unserem Verständnis anderer Wissenschaften bei.
Viele physikalische Größen, die durch die Gesetze der Physik definiert sind, können als Kombination aus Längen-, Massen- und Zeitgrößen ausgedrückt werden.
Die Länge ist ein physikalisches Maß für die Entfernung, das in der SI-Einheit des Meters, die Masse in der Einheit des Kilogramms und die Zeit in der Einheit Sekunden gemessen wird.

Dabei legt sie Wert auf die Verwendung quantitativer Gesetze, die auch in anderen Bereichen wertvoll sein können, um die Leistungsgrenzen vorhandener Technologien zu erweitern.

Physikwissen ist nicht nur in wissenschaftlichen Berufen, sondern auch im Alltag von großer Bedeutung. Beispielsweise kann die Physik uns helfen zu verstehen, wie Mikrowellenherde funktionieren und warum sie Herzschrittmacher beeinflussen könnten. Viele Fachrichtungen sind auf die Physik angewiesen und sie trägt direkt zu vielen weiteren bei. Die Chemie befasst sich beispielsweise mit den Wechselwirkungen von Atomen und Molekülen und hat daher enge Verbindungen zur atomaren und molekularen Physik. Ebenso beschäftigen sich die meisten Ingenieursdisziplinen mit der Gestaltung neuer Technologien, Prozesse oder Strukturen innerhalb der Grenzen, die durch die Gesetze der Physik vorgegeben sind.

Es ist nicht notwendig, alle Anwendungen der Physik formell zu erlernen. Das Wissen über die grundlegenden Regeln und die analytischen Fähigkeiten, um sie anzuwenden, sind das wertvollste, was man tun kann. Die Physik kann auch dazu beitragen, die Fähigkeiten zur Problemlösung zu verbessern. Darüber hinaus wird die Physik aufgrund ihrer grundlegenden Bestandteile von allen Wissenschaften verwendet.

Physics studies the interactions of energy, matter, space, and time. It looks for the basic mechanisms that explain natural phenomena. The word physics comes from the Greek word physis, which means nature.

Physics helps us understand the natural world at its most fundamental level. It relies on quantitative laws, or rules written in numbers and measurements, to describe how things behave. That approach can also help other fields improve the limits of current technology.

Physics matters in everyday life as well as in science careers. For example, it helps explain how microwave ovens work. It also helps explain why microwave ovens might affect pacemakers.

Many disciplines depend on physics, and physics also supports several others directly. Chemistry studies how atoms and molecules interact, so it is closely connected to atomic and molecular physics. Most branches of engineering also use physics because engineers design technologies, processes, and structures within the limits set by physical laws.

You do not need to learn every application of physics to use it well. It is more important to know the fundamental rules and use them to solve problems. That kind of analytical thinking can strengthen problem-solving skills. Because physics contains the most basic ideas in science, it is used by all sciences.
