Velocity and Position by Integral Method

Geschwindigkeit und Position können berechnet werden, wenn die Beschleunigung in Abhängigkeit von der Zeit bekannt ist. Die zeitliche Ableitung der Geschwindigkeitsfunktion ist die Beschleunigung.
Wenn man also das Integral auf beiden Seiten der Gleichung nimmt, kann die Geschwindigkeit als Funktion der Zeit berechnet werden. Die Gleichung kann für den Fall der konstanten Beschleunigung umgeschrieben werden.
Die Integrationskonstante kann anhand der Anfangsbedingungen berechnet werden. Der Wert dieser Konstante wird in den Ausdruck für die Geschwindigkeit als Funktion der Zeit eingesetzt, um die erste kinematische Gleichung zu erhalten.
Die Zeitableitung der Positionsfunktion ist die Geschwindigkeitsfunktion. Nimmt man wiederum das Integral auf beiden Seiten der Gleichung, so wird die Position als Funktion der Zeit berechnet.
Nun wird der Ausdruck für die Geschwindigkeitsfunktion ersetzt und die Gleichung integriert. Unter Anwendung der Anfangsbedingungen wird die Integrationskonstante abgeleitet.
Der Wert dieser Konstante wird dann in den Ausdruck für die Position als Funktion der Zeit eingesetzt, um die zweite kinematische Gleichung zu erhalten.

Velocity and position can be found from acceleration using integral calculus. When acceleration is known as a function of time, the velocity function comes from integrating acceleration. The position function then comes from integrating velocity. For constant acceleration, these integral steps match the first and second kinematic equations for velocity and position.

The example in this lesson uses a motorboat that is moving at 5.0 m/s and then begins to slow down as it approaches the dock. Its acceleration is given as −1/4·t m/s². The time t = 0 is set to the moment the boat starts to decelerate. From there, the velocity function is found by integrating the acceleration function.

After the acceleration expression is integrated, the constant of integration C1 is set using the initial velocity of 5 m/s. This gives the velocity as a function of time. Next, that velocity function is integrated with respect to time to find the position function. The second constant of integration, C2, is then found using the initial position, which is zero. The result is the position as a function of time for the slowing boat.
