Power Expended by a Constant Force

Leistung ist die Geschwindigkeit, mit der Arbeit erledigt wird. Die Formel für die Leistung kann umgestellt werden, um die geleistete Arbeit zu erhalten, wenn die Leistung während eines Prozesses bekannt ist.
Wenn sich die Ausgangsleistung in Abhängigkeit von der Zeit ändert, ist die geleistete Arbeit das Integral der Leistung während dieses Zeitraums, und daher ergibt die Fläche unter der Kurve den Wert der geleisteten Arbeit.
Wenn eine konstante Kraft auf ein Objekt ausgeübt wird, kann die Kraft des Objekts in Bezug auf die auf es wirkende Kraft und die vom Objekt zurückgelegte Verschiebung ausgedrückt werden. Hier ist die Ableitung der Verschiebung mit der Zeit die Geschwindigkeit. So kann Leistung auch als Produkt aus Kraft und Geschwindigkeit dargestellt werden.
Aus der Gleichung geht hervor, dass die Leistung positiv, negativ oder null sein kann, abhängig vom Winkel zwischen der Kraft und dem Geschwindigkeitsvektor.

Die Beziehung zwischen geleisteter Arbeit und der dafür benötigten Zeit kann mithilfe des Konzepts der Leistung erklärt werden. Zum Beispiel können mehrere Sprinter in einem Rennen beim Erreichen der Ziellinie dieselbe Geschwindigkeit haben und daher dieselbe Arbeit leisten, aber der Gewinner erledigt dies in kürzester Zeit. Die Leistung wird daher als Arbeit pro Zeiteinheit definiert. Da sich die Arbeit in Abhängigkeit von der Zeit ändern kann, wird die mittlere Leistung als die während eines Zeitintervalls geleistete Arbeit geteilt durch das Zeitintervall definiert. Die durchschnittliche Leistung wird als Momentanleistung bezeichnet, wenn das Zeitintervall nahezu null ist.

Die Leistung, die beim Bewegen eines Körpers aufgewendet wird, kann auch in Bezug auf die auf ihn wirkenden Kräfte ausgedrückt werden. Wenn eine Kraft F auf einen Körper wirkt, der in einer Zeit dt eine Strecke ds zurücklegt, ist die von der Kraft aufgewendete Leistung

Power describes how fast work is done. In physics, two sprinters can cross the finish line with the same velocity and do the same amount of work, but the one who finishes first has greater power because the work takes less time.

Average power is the work done during a time interval divided by that time interval. When the time interval becomes very small, this becomes instantaneous power. That gives the power at a specific moment instead of over a longer stretch of time.

Power can also be written in terms of force and motion. If a force F acts on a body and the body moves a small distance ds in a time dt, the power expended by the force can be written using the body's velocity v. This relationship follows from the way work and time change for a real moving body.
