Elastic Potential Energy

Die elastische potentielle Energie ist die Energie, die in einem flexiblen Objekt aufgrund einer durch eine äußere Kraft verursachten Verformung gespeichert wird. Wenn zum Beispiel ein Bogen gespannt wird, wird elastische potentielle Energie im Bogen gespeichert.
Mathematisch ist es definiert als das Produkt aus Kraft, die erforderlich ist, um das Objekt zu verformen, und der durch die Kraft verursachten Verschiebung. Unter Verwendung des Hookeschen Gesetzes kann also die elastische potentielle Energie eines Bogens, der um eine Distanz x gedehnt wird, als 1/2 kx zum Quadrat ausgedrückt werden, wobei k die Federkonstante ist.
Betrachten wir schließlich einen Fall, in dem ein Körper an einem Ende einer Feder hängt, die am anderen Ende befestigt ist, wie gezeigt. Der Körper weist sowohl gravitative als auch elastische potentielle Energie auf. Hier ist die gesamte potentielle Energie U die Summe aus gravitativer und elastischer potentieller Energie.

Elastische potentielle Energie ist die Energie, die als Ergebnis der Verformung eines elastischen Objekts gespeichert ist, wie zum Beispiel das Dehnen einer Feder. Ein Objekt ist elastisch, wenn es nach der Verformung seine ursprüngliche Form und Größe wieder annimmt.

Potentielle Energie ist auch mit der elastischen Kraft verbunden, die von einer idealen Feder ausgeübt wird. Die Arbeit, die durch diese Kraft verrichtet wird, kann als Veränderung der elastischen potentiellen Energie der Feder dargestellt werden. Somit hängt die von einer perfekt elastischen Feder verrichtete Arbeit in einer Dimension nur von der Federkonstante und den Quadraten der Verschiebungen von der ungedehnten Position ab. Diese Arbeit bezieht sich nur auf die Eigenschaften einer Hooke'schen Gesetz-Wechselwirkung, bei der die rücktreibende Kraft proportional zur und entgegengesetzt zur aufgebrachten Verschiebung ist, und nicht auf die Eigenschaften echter Federn und der an ihnen befestigten Objekte. Daher kann die Differenz der elastischen potentiellen Energie für eine Federkraft als das Negative der von der Federkraft verrichteten Arbeit definiert werden.

Ein einfaches System, das sowohl gravitationsbedingte als auch elastische potentielle Energie verkörpert, ist ein eindimensionales, vertikales Masse-Feder-System. Dies besteht aus einem massiven Partikel (oder Block), das an einem Ende einer perfekt elastischen, masselosen Feder hängt, deren anderes Ende fixiert ist.

Elastic potential energy is stored when an elastic object is deformed, such as when a spring is stretched. An object is elastic if it returns to its original shape and size after the force is removed. This stored energy is part of a system’s potential energy.

An ideal spring also exerts an elastic force. The work done by this force can be described as a change in the spring’s elastic potential energy. For a perfectly elastic spring in one dimension, that work depends only on the spring constant and the square of the displacement from the unstretched position.

This relationship follows Hooke’s law, where the restoring force is proportional to the displacement and points in the opposite direction. It describes the spring interaction itself, not the properties of a real spring or the objects attached to it. The change in elastic potential energy is defined as the negative of the work done by the spring force.

A simple example that combines gravitational potential energy and elastic potential energy is a one-dimensional vertical mass-spring system. In this setup, a block or other massive particle hangs from one end of a perfectly elastic, massless spring, while the other end is fixed. This model helps show how both types of potential energy can act in the same system.
