Work Done Over an Inclined Plane

Stellen Sie sich eine Person vor, die eine Piste hinunterfährt. Unter der Annahme, dass die Kraft durch Reibung auf den Skiern über Eis vernachlässigbar ist, kann ein Freikörperdiagramm gezeichnet werden.
Die Komponente der Schwerkraft entlang der Verschiebung bewegt die Person vorwärts. Kräfte, die senkrecht zur Verschiebung stehen, spielen bei der Bewegung keine Rolle und tragen daher nicht zur geleisteten Arbeit bei.
Die geleistete Arbeit ist also einfach die parallele Kraftkomponente multipliziert mit der Verschiebung.
Eine andere Möglichkeit, dies zu lösen, besteht darin, den Kraftvektor anstelle seiner Komponente zu nehmen. 
Dabei wird der Winkel zwischen der Kraft und der Verschiebung betrachtet. Beachten Sie, dass der endgültige Ausdruck für die geleistete Arbeit derselbe ist.
Erfolgt die Verschiebung des Skifahrers jedoch in die entgegengesetzte Richtung der Kraft, so dass sie in Ruhe beginnt und endet, dann ist die geleistete Arbeit negativ.
Wenn der Winkel der schiefen Ebene Null ist, steht die Kraft senkrecht zur Verschiebung, so dass die Arbeit, die die Gravitationskraft auf die Person ausübt, Null wird.

Das Schwerpunktsystem ermöglicht eine einfache Beschreibung der an starren Körpern geleisteten Arbeit. Da die inneren Kräfte in einem starren Körper keine Arbeit verrichten, können sie ignoriert werden, und nur die äußeren Kräfte können im Rahmen des Arbeit-Energie-Theorems berücksichtigt werden.

Die von der Schwerkraft geleistete Arbeit, um einen starren Körper zu bewegen, oder die von einer entgegengesetzten Kraft geleistete Arbeit, um einen starren Körper entgegen der Schwerkraft zu bewegen, kann unter Verwendung des Schwerpunktsystems berechnet werden. Es handelt sich um das Liniennintegral der Schwerkraft entlang des Pfades, das als positiv betrachtet wird, wenn die Schwerkraft ihre kinetische Energie erhöht, und als negativ, wenn Arbeit gegen die Schwerkraft geleistet wird, um den Körper anzuheben und damit seine kinetische Energie zu verringern. Im Fall einer horizontalen Bewegung ist die von der Schwerkraft geleistete Arbeit oder Arbeit gegen die Schwerkraft null. Das heißt, dass die Änderung der kinetischen Energie eines Körpers, auch wenn sie nicht null ist, ist ausschlich auf andere Kräfte zurückzuführen ist.

Diese Formulierung gilt gleichermaßen, wenn sich ein Körper über eine geneigte Ebene bewegt. Der einzige Unterschied besteht darin, dass sich nur eine Komponente der Schwerkraft entlang der Ebene befindet und nur diese Komponente berücksichtigt werden muss, während die geleistete Arbeit berechnet wird. Die Schwerkraft senkrecht zur Ebene verrichtet keine Arbeit an irgendeinem Punkt während der Verschiebung.

Gravity and work on sloped motion can be described with the center-of-mass framework. For a rigid body, internal forces do no work, so they can be ignored. The work-energy theorem then uses only the external forces.

The work done by gravity depends on the path of the body’s center of mass. If gravity helps increase kinetic energy, the work is positive. If an object is lifted against gravity, the work is negative because kinetic energy decreases.

For horizontal motion, the work done by or against gravity is zero. In that case, any change in kinetic energy comes from other forces. The same idea applies to motion over an inclined plane.

On a slope, only the component of gravity parallel to the plane contributes to work. The force perpendicular to the plane does no work during the motion. That is the key difference from horizontal motion and other straight paths.
