Conservation of Mechanical Energy

Stellen Sie sich einen Reifen vor, der unter dem Einfluss der Schwerkraft wie ein Pendel hin und her schwingt. Man geht davon aus, dass es sich bei dem Pendel-Erde-System um ein isoliertes System handelt.
Wenn das Pendel schwingt, variiert die Energie des Systems zwischen potentieller Gravitationsenergie und kinetischer Energie hin und her, während die mechanische Energie des Systems – die Summe der beiden – konstant bleibt.
Wenn sich das Pendel in seiner niedrigsten Position befindet, hat es seine maximale Geschwindigkeit und die gesamte Energie ist kinetische Energie. In der höchsten Position, in der das Pendel kurzzeitig stoppt, ist die Geschwindigkeit Null und die gesamte Energie ist potentielle Energie.
In den Zwischenpositionen ist die Hälfte der Energie kinetische Energie und die andere Hälfte potentielle Energie.
In jedem isolierten System besagt der Satz der Erhaltung der mechanischen Energie, dass die gesamte mechanische Energie des Systems zu jedem Zeitpunkt konstant bleibt. Die Indizes beziehen sich auf unterschiedliche Zeitpunkte während eines Energieübertragungsprozesses.

Dieses Ergebnis wird als Prinzip der Erhaltung der mechanischen Energie bezeichnet.

Das Prinzip der Erhaltung der mechanischen Energie ermöglicht es uns, Probleme zu lösen, die schwen mit Newtons Gesetzen allein zu lösen wären. Wenn die mechanische Energie eines Systems erhalten bleibt, kann die Summe der kinetischen Energie poiellen Energie zu einem bestimmten Zeitpunkt in Beziehung gesetzt werden zu ihrer Summe zu einem anderen Zeitpunkt, ohne die von den beteiligten Kräften geleistete Arbeit zu ermitteln. Ein großer Vorteil der Verwendung der Energieerhaltung anstelle ich zu den der Newtoen Bewegungsgesetzen besteht darin, dass es möglich ist, vom Anfangszustand zum Endzustand zu gelangen, ohne die gesamte Zwischenbewegung zu berücksichtigen.

Mechanical energy in an isolated system is the total of kinetic energy and potential energy. Kinetic energy is the energy of motion, and potential energy is stored energy. The transcript focuses on what happens when energy shifts within a system without outside influence.

In this case, only conservative forces act on the objects in the system. Conservative forces can transfer energy between kinetic energy and potential energy. Friction and drag do not act here, and no external force from outside the system changes the energy inside it.

When a conservative force does work on an object, it changes how the energy is shared between kinetic and potential forms. The kinetic energy and potential energy can each change. However, their sum, called the mechanical energy E, does not change.

This result is known as the principle of conservation of mechanical energy. It is useful for solving problems that are hard to handle with Newton’s laws alone. Instead of tracking every step of the motion, you can compare the initial and final states and relate the total mechanical energy at one instant to the total at another.
