In Kommunikationssystemen quantifiziert die Verstärkung das Ausmaß der Signalverstärkung oder -dämpfung.
Die Leistungsverstärkung bezeichnet den gemeinsamen Logarithmus des Verhältnisses von Ausgangsleistung zu Eingangsleistung und wird in bel ausgedrückt.
Für praktische Messungen wird üblicherweise ein Dezibel verwendet. Es ist eine Untereinheit, die einem Zehntel eines bel entspricht.
Stellen Sie sich ein Netzwerk mit Eingangs- und Ausgangsspannungen und -widerständen vor. Wenn die Ausgangsleistung der Eingangsleistung in diesem Netzwerk entspricht, beträgt die Verstärkung null Dezibel.
Wenn die Ausgangsleistung doppelt so hoch ist wie die Eingangsleistung, beträgt die Verstärkung drei Dezibel. Sinkt die Ausgangsleistung hingegen auf die Hälfte der Eingangsleistung, beträgt die Verstärkung minus drei Dezibel.
Alternativ kann die Leistung über Spannung und Widerstand dargestellt werden.
Die Regeln der Logarithmen werden angewendet, um einen Ausdruck für den Leistungsgewinn in Bezug auf die Spannungs- und Widerstandsverhältnisse zu erhalten.
Wenn der Eingangswiderstand dem Lastwiderstand entspricht, wird die Verstärkung proportional zum Verhältnis von Ausgangs- und Eingangsspannung.
In ähnlicher Weise kann die Verstärkung in Bezug auf das Strom- und Widerstandsverhältnis dargestellt werden.

Verstärkung und Phasenverschiebung sind Eigenschaften linearer Schaltkreise, die die Wirkung eines Schaltkreises auf eine sinusförmige Eingangsspannung oder einen sinusförmigen Eingangsstrom beschreiben. Das Verhalten des Schaltkreises, der reaktive Elemente enthält, hängt von der Frequenz der Eingangssinuskurve ab. Daher ist zu beobachten, dass Verstärkung und Phasenverschiebung alle Frequenzfunktionen sind.

Die Eingangs- und Ausgangssignale haben die Amplitude A und B und einen Phasenwinkel von 0° bzw. θ°.

Die Verstärkung des Schaltkreises gibt die Beziehung zwischen den Größen der Eingangs- und Ausgangssinuskurven an. Insbesondere ist die Verstärkung (K) das Verhältnis der Amplitude der Ausgangssinuskurve zur Amplitude der Eingangssinuskurve.

Wenn die Verstärkung K größer als eins ist, bedeutet dies eine Verstärkung, während eine Verstärkung kleiner als eins eine Dämpfung anzeigt. Die Verstärkung wird mithilfe einer logarithmischen Skala beschrieben. In Dezibel (dB) ausgedrückt, bietet die Verstärkung eine praktische Möglichkeit, sehr große und sehr kleine Zahlen auf derselben Skala darzustellen. Phasenverschiebung:

Phasenverschiebung bezieht sich auf den Betrag, um den die Phase des Ausgangssignals im Vergleich zur Phase des Eingangssignals verzögert oder vorverlegt wird. Es handelt sich um die Winkeldifferenz zwischen den Ausgangs- und Eingangssinuskurven. Das Eingangs- und Ausgangssignal haben einen Phasenwinkel von 0° bzw. θ°, dann ergibt sich die Phasenverschiebung (θ_shift) aus:

Eine positive θ_shift gibt an, dass das Ausgangssignal hinter dem Eingangssignal zurückbleibt, während eine negative θshift bedeutet, dass das Ausgangssignal dem Eingangssignal vorauseilt.

Gain

circuit gain and phase shift

Circuit gain and phase shift describe how a linear circuit changes a sinusoidal input voltage or current. These properties matter in circuits with reactive elements, because the response depends on the input frequency. As the frequency changes, the gain and phase shift also change.

Gain compares the size of the output sinusoid to the size of the input sinusoid. If Vin is the input and Vout is the output, the gain K is the ratio of the output amplitude to the input amplitude. A gain greater than one means the circuit amplifies the signal, while a gain less than one means the circuit attenuates it.

Gain is often written on a logarithmic scale. When gain is expressed in decibels, or dB, it gives a practical way to show very large and very small values on the same scale. The dB value is found from the gain K using a base-10 logarithm.

Phase shift describes how much the output waveform is delayed or advanced compared with the input waveform. It is the angular difference between the input and output sinusoids. If the input has a phase angle of 0° and the output has a phase angle of θ°, then the phase shift is θ shift.

A positive phase shift means the output lags behind the input. A negative phase shift means the output leads the input. Together, gain and phase shift show both the size change and the timing change caused by a linear circuit.
