Das verallgemeinerte Hookesche Gesetz dehnt das Hookesche Gesetz auf alle Spannungsarten und -richtungen aus und hilft beim Verständnis von Materialien unter mehrachsigen Spannungszuständen.
Stellen Sie sich einen isotropen Würfel vor, der einer mehrachsigen Belastung ausgesetzt ist, bei der Normalspannungen entlang von drei Koordinatenachsen wirken.
Der Würfel verformt sich zu einem rechteckigen Quader mit gleichen Seiten und normaler Dehnung in Richtung der Koordinatenachsen.
Dehnungskomponenten werden in Form von Spannungskomponenten ausgedrückt, indem die Wirkung jeder Spannungskomponente separat betrachtet und diese Effekte dann unter Verwendung des Überlagerungsprinzips kombiniert werden, wobei davon ausgegangen wird, dass jeder Effekt linear mit seiner Last zusammenhängt und die Verformungen minimal sind.
Bei mehrachsigen Belastungen sind die Bedingungen erfüllt, wenn die Spannungen die proportionale Grenze des Materials nicht überschreiten und die Spannung auf einer bestimmten Fläche keine signifikanten Verformungen verursacht, die sich auf die Spannungsberechnungen auf anderen Flächen auswirken.
Die Spannungskomponenten in jeder Richtung verursachen Dehnungen in ihren jeweiligen Richtungen und Dehnungen in den beiden anderen Richtungen.
Durch die Kombination der einzelnen Effekte ergeben sich die der mehrachsigen Belastung entsprechenden Dehnungsanteile, die als verallgemeinertes Hooke-Gesetz bezeichnet werden.

Das verallgemeinerte Hookesche Gesetz ist eine erweiterte Version des Hookeschen Gesetzes, das sich auf alle Arten von Spannungen und in jede Richtung erstreckt. Stellen Sie sich ein isotropes Material in Würfelform vor, das einer mehrachsigen Belastung ausgesetzt ist. In diesem Szenario werden Normalspannungen entlang der drei Koordinatenachsen ausgeübt. Durch diese Spannungen verformt sich die kubische Form zu einem rechteckigen Parallelepiped. Trotz dieser Verformung behält die neue Form gleiche Seiten bei und es gibt eine Normalspannung in Richtung der Koordinatenachsen. Die Dehnungskomponenten werden aus den Spannungskomponenten abgeleitet. Bei diesem Prozess werden die Auswirkungen jeder Stresskomponente einzeln betrachtet und diese Effekte dann integriert.

Diese Methode nutzt das Superpositionsprinzip, das davon ausgeht, dass jeder Effekt linear mit seiner Belastung zusammenhängt und die resultierenden Verformungen gering sind. Diese Bedingungen gelten bei mehrachsiger Belastung, wenn die Spannungen die Proportionalitätsgrenze des Materials nicht überschreiten. Darüber hinaus sollte die auf eine bestimmte Fläche ausgeübte Spannung keine erheblichen Verformungen verursachen, die sich auf die Spannungsberechnung auf anderen Flächen auswirken könnten. Jede Spannungskomponente induziert Dehnungen in ihrer jeweiligen Richtung und Dehnungen in den anderen beiden Richtungen. Durch die Zusammenführung dieser Einzeleffekte lassen sich die der mehrachsigen Belastung entsprechenden Dehnungskomponenten ableiten. Diese abgeleiteten Komponenten stellen das verallgemeinerte Hookesche Gesetz dar.

Multiaxial stress and strain describe how an isotropic material responds when forces act along more than one direction. A cube-shaped sample under normal stresses on the three coordinate axes can change into a rectangular parallelepiped. Even after this deformation, the sides remain equal, and normal strain appears along the coordinate axes.

The strain components are found from the stress components by studying each stress effect one at a time. The separate effects are then combined using the superposition principle. This approach assumes that each strain changes linearly with its load and that the deformation stays small.

These conditions are valid for multiaxial loading when the stresses do not go beyond the material's proportional limit. The stress on one face should also not create large deformations that would affect stress calculations on the other faces. Each stress component causes strain in its own direction and also strain in the other two directions. When these individual effects are added together, they give the strain components described by the generalized Hooke's law.
