Wenn ein Material axial belastet wird, erfährt es eine normale Spannung, was zur Erzeugung von Dehnungsenergie führt. Diese Gleichung gilt für gleichmäßig verteilte Spannungen, und die Dehnungsenergiedichte ist im gesamten Material konstant.
Für ein Material mit ungleichmäßiger Spannungsverteilung wird die Dehnungsenergiedichte für das kleine Volumen des Materials definiert.
Hier wird die Dehnungsenergiedichte als Produkt aus der aufgebrachten Spannung und der erzeugten Dehnung ausgedrückt.
Durch die Integration der Dehnungsenergiedichte über das gesamte Volumen des Materials ergibt sich die gesamte im Material gespeicherte Dehnungsenergie.
Die erhaltene Gleichung für die Dehnungsenergie gilt nur für die elastische Verformung und wird auch als elastische Dehnungsenergie bezeichnet.
Wenn das Material einer zentrischen axialen Belastung ausgesetzt wird, wird davon ausgegangen, dass die Normalspannungen über jeden Querschnitt gleichmäßig sind. Dabei wird die Normalspannung als das Verhältnis der Schnittgrößen zur betrachteten Querschnittsfläche geschrieben.
Die in solchen Fällen gespeicherte Dehnungsenergie wird als Schnittgröße und Elastizitätsmodul angegeben.

Elastic Strain Energy for Normal Stresses

Dehnungsenergie quantifiziert die in einem Material gespeicherte Energie aufgrund von Verformung unter Belastungsbedingungen, ein grundlegendes Konzept in Materialwissenschaft und Werkstofftechnik. Die Dehnungsenergie kann modelliert werden, wenn ein Material einer axialen Belastung mit gleichmäßig verteilter Spannung ausgesetzt wird. In diesem Szenario ist die Spannung, der das Material ausgesetzt ist, die innere Kraft geteilt durch die Querschnittsfläche, und die induzierte Dehnung ist über den Elastizitätsmodul direkt proportional zu dieser Spannung.

Bei einer gleichmäßigen Spannungsverteilung kann die Dehnungsenergiedichte, definiert als das Produkt aus Spannung und Dehnung, über das gesamte Materialvolumen integriert werden, um die gesamte gespeicherte Dehnungsenergie zu ermitteln.

Bei Materialien mit ungleichmäßiger Spannungsverteilung wird die Berechnung der Dehnungsenergie jedoch komplexer. In solchen Fällen muss die Dehnungsenergiedichte für die kleinen Volumina definiert werden, um lokale Spannungs- und Dehnungsschwankungen zu berücksichtigen. Die gesamte Dehnungsenergie ist die Summe dieser Dichten über das gesamte Materialvolumen.

Diese Betrachtung geht von elastischem Verhalten aus, bei dem die Verformung reversibel ist und das Material nach Entfernen der Last seine ursprüngliche Form wieder annimmt. Das Verständnis und die Berechnung der Dehnungsenergie ist für die Entwicklung von Materialien und Komponenten, die Betriebsbelastungen ohne Ausfall standhalten, von entscheidender Bedeutung.

Strain energy in stressed materials describes the energy stored when a material deforms under load. It is an important idea in materials science and engineering. For axial loading with a uniform stress distribution, the stress is the internal force divided by the cross-sectional area, and the strain follows from the stress through the modulus of elasticity.

When the stress is uniform, the strain energy density can be found from the product of stress and strain. That density is then integrated over the full volume of the material to calculate the total strain energy stored. This approach works for elastic behavior, where the deformation is reversible and the material returns to its original shape after the load is removed.

The calculation becomes more complex when stress is not distributed evenly. In those cases, strain energy density must be defined for small volumes so local changes in stress and strain are included. The total strain energy is then the sum of these small energy contributions across the material. This idea is useful for understanding how materials and components can handle operating stresses without failure.
