Die Proportional-Differential-Steuerung (PD) ist eine weit verbreitete Steuerungsmethode in verschiedenen technischen Systemen zur Verbesserung von Stabilität und Leistung. In einem System mit ausschließlich proportionaler Steuerung sind häufige Probleme ein hohes maximales Überschwingen und Oszillation, das sowohl im Fehlersignal als auch in seiner Änderungsrate beobachtet wird. Dieses Verhalten kann in drei verschiedene Phasen unterteilt werden: anfängliches Überschwingen, nachfolgendes Unterschwingen und allmähliche Stabilisierung.

Betrachten wir das Beispiel der Steuerung des Motordrehmoments. Zunächst erzeugt ein positives Fehlersignal ein schnell ansteigendes positives Motordrehmoment. Dieser Drehmomentanstieg führt zu einem erheblichen Überschwingen und Oszillieren der Ausgangsleistung, die auf die hohe Kraft und unzureichende Dämpfung zurückzuführen sind. Die Ausgangsleistung des Systems überschreitet den gewünschten Wert, was die übermäßige anfängliche Korrektur und den schwachen Widerstand der Proportionalsteuerung widerspiegelt.

In der zweiten Phase erzeugt ein negatives Fehlersignal ein negatives Motordrehmoment, das den Ausgang verlangsamt und dazu führt, dass er das Ziel unterschreitet. Dieses Unterschwingen zeigt die Tendenz des Systems an, nach dem anfänglichen Überschwingen in die entgegengesetzte Richtung zu überkompensieren. Die Drehmomentreduzierung in dieser Phase verlangsamt den Ausgang, aber das Fehlen einer ausreichenden Dämpfung führt zu oszillierendem Verhalten.

Während der letzten Phase tritt wieder ein positives Motordrehmoment auf, wodurch das Unterschwingen aus der vorherigen Phase verringert wird. Jede Oszillation weist eine abnehmende Fehleramplitude auf, wodurch die Systemleistung zunehmend stabilisiert wird. Die hohe anfängliche Korrektur und der schwache Widerstand, die das Überschwingen verursacht haben, werden in dieser Phase durch erhöhten Widerstand und ein verringertes Maß an Korrektur ausgeglichen.

Die PD-Steuerung behebt diese Probleme effektiv, indem sie vorausschauende Anpassungen basierend auf der Steigung des Fehlersignals vornimmt. Dieser vorausschauende Mechanismus ermöglicht es dem System, seine Richtung vorherzusagen und zu korrigieren, wodurch übermäßiges Überschwingen gemildert und die Amplitude der Oszillation verringert wird. Durch Anpassen der Reaktionsrate des Systems stimmt die PD-Steuerung das anfängliche Maß an Korrektur fein ab und erhöht den Widerstand, was zu kleineren Über- und Unterschwingungen führt. PD control helps reduce overshoot and oscillation in motor torque systems. Proportional control uses the size of the error signal to set the correction. When the response is too large or too small, the output can move away from the target and then swing back.

With proportional control alone, the system often goes through three stages. First, a positive error signal creates a rapidly rising positive motor torque. That strong push can cause a large overshoot because the system has high force but not enough damping, which is the resistance that helps slow motion.

Next, the error signal turns negative. This produces negative motor torque, which slows the output and can make it undershoot the target. The system then overcorrects in the opposite direction, and the lack of damping keeps the motion oscillating.

In the final stage, positive motor torque appears again and reduces the undershoot. Each new swing becomes smaller as the error amplitude drops and the output settles closer to the desired value. PD control improves this behavior by adding an anticipatory adjustment based on the slope, or rate of change, of the error signal. That extra correction helps predict the direction of the error, lowers overshoot and undershoot, and makes the output more stable.
