Bei plötzlichen Stromstößen stabilisiert die Last-Frequenz-Regelung das Netz. Die Ziele von LFC bestehen darin, stationäre Frequenzfehler nach Laständerungen zu beseitigen und den geplanten Stromfluss in jedem Gebiet aufrechtzuerhalten.
Der Area Control Error, der Abweichungen des Gleichleitungsstroms und den Frequenzfehler kombiniert, leitet die Anpassung der Referenzleistungseinstellung jedes Turbinenreglers.
Befehle zum Erhöhen oder Verringern dieser Einstellungen erfolgen alle paar Sekunden und ermöglichen neue stationäre Vorgänge, wenn alle Einstellungen und der ACE aller Bereiche null sind.
Die Frequenzvorspannung sollte hoch genug sein, um einen Flächenbeitrag zur Frequenzregelung zu leisten, ohne eine Instabilität durch eine hohe Integratorverstärkung zu verursachen.
Zu den weiteren LFC-Zielen gehört die Steuerung des Timings und der Energieübertragung von motorbetriebenen 60-Hz-Takten durch die Beseitigung von Frequenz- und Netto-Tie-Line-Fehlern.
Bei normaler Last und Frequenzänderungen behält der LFC die Kontrolle.
Durch die Anpassung der Referenzleistungseinstellungen der Turbinenregler werden die LFC- und wirtschaftlichen Einsatzziele erreicht.
In einer koordinierten Strategie zur Steuerung der automatischen Generierung wird zuerst der ACE berechnet, wobei jeder Einheit ein Anteil zugewiesen wird.
Dann werden Abweichungen der Gesamterzeugung von der gewünschten berechnet und zugeordnet, wobei die Anhebungs- oder Absenkungssignale jeder Einheit bestimmt werden.

Die Last-Frequenz-Regelung (LFC) ist für die Aufrechterhaltung der Stabilität des Stromsystems von entscheidender Bedeutung und stellt sicher, dass Frequenz und Leistungsfluss bei Laständerungen innerhalb akzeptabler Grenzen bleiben. Die Turbinenreglerregelung verhindert Rotorbeschleunigungen und -verzögerungen nach Laständerungen. Ein stationärer Frequenzfehler bleibt jedoch bestehen, wenn die Änderung der Turbinenregler-Referenzeinstellung Null beträgt. In einem vernetzten Stromsystem verpflichtet sich jeder Bereich, eine geplante Menge an Strom über Übertragungsleitungsverbindungen oder Querleitungen zu exportieren oder zu importieren. Jeder Bereich absorbiert seine eigenen Laständerungen, um den geplanten Netto-Querleitungsstromfluss (p_tie) aufrechtzuerhalten. Die Hauptaufgaben der LFC bestehen darin, den stationären Frequenzfehler nach einer Laständerung auf Null zurückzusetzen und den Netto-Querleitungsstromfluss auf seinem geplanten Wert zu halten.

Der Area Control Error (ACE) wird definiert als die Nettoabweichung des Leistungsflusses der Verbindungsleitung von seinem geplanten Wert plus einem Frequenzfehler (B_f). Der ACE für jeden Bereich ist eine lineare Kombination aus Verbindungsleitungsfehler und Frequenzfehler (Δ_f). Die Änderung der Referenzleistungseinstellung (Δp_refi) jedes Turbinenreglers unter LFC ist proportional zum Integral des ACE. Diese Integralwirkung stellt sicher, dass sowohl der Frequenzfehler als auch der Verbindungsleitungsleistungsfehler auf Null reduziert werden.

Die Frequenzvorspannungskonstante und die Integratorverstärkung (K_i) beeinflussen die Übergangsreaktion auf Laständerungen. Die Frequenzvorspannung sollte hoch genug sein, um eine ausreichende Frequenzregelung zu gewährleisten. Cohns Methode schlägt vor, die Frequenzvorspannung gleich der Flächenfrequenzantwortcharakteristik einzustellen, um eine zufriedenstellende Leistung zu erzielen. Die Integratorverstärkung sollte nicht zu hoch sein, um Instabilitäten zu vermeiden. Automatische Erzeugungssteuerungsstrategien koordinieren LFC mit wirtschaftlichen Einsatzzielen, indem sie die Referenzleistungseinstellungen des Turbinenreglers anpassen. Die gewünschten Leistungen jedes Generators, die durch ein wirtschaftliches Einsatzprogramm bestimmt werden, werden in Intervallen aktualisiert, um einen effizienten und stabilen Betrieb des Stromnetzes sicherzustellen.

Load-frequency control

Load-frequency control keeps a power grid stable when electrical demand changes. It helps keep system frequency and power flow within acceptable limits. Turbine-governor control reduces rotor speed changes after a load shift, but a steady-state frequency error can still remain when the turbine-governor reference setting does not change.

In an interconnected power system, each area agrees to export or import a scheduled amount of power through tie-lines, which are the transmission lines that link areas together. Each area absorbs its own load changes so the scheduled net tie-line power flow stays on target. The two main goals of load-frequency control are to bring the steady-state frequency error back to zero and to keep the net tie-line power flow at its scheduled value.

The Area Control Error, or ACE, combines the tie-line power flow deviation from its scheduled value with a frequency bias term. In each area, ACE is a linear combination of tie-line error and frequency error. Under load-frequency control, the change in reference power setting for each turbine-governor is proportional to the integral of ACE. This integral action helps drive both the frequency error and the tie-line power error to zero.

The frequency bias constant and the integrator gain affect how the system responds after a load change. The frequency bias should be high enough to give good frequency control. Cohn's method suggests setting the frequency bias equal to the area frequency response characteristic for satisfactory performance. The integrator gain should not be too high, or the system can become unstable.

Automatic generation control works with load-frequency control to support economic dispatch goals. It adjusts turbine-governor reference power settings so each generator output matches the values chosen by the economic dispatch program. These output values are updated at intervals, which helps keep power system operation efficient and stable.
