Beim Spritzbeton wird Mörtel oder kleiner Zuschlagstoffbeton, der reich an Mörtel ist, durch einen Schlauch mit hoher Geschwindigkeit auf eine Oberfläche gesprüht, die normalerweise bewehrt ist.
Der Aufprall des Hochgeschwindigkeitsstrahls auf die Oberfläche verdichtet das Material und erleichtert seine Haftung an vertikalen oder über Kopf liegenden Flächen.
Spritzbeton wird gespritzt und schrittweise geschichtet, um eine Dicke von etwa 4 Zoll zu erreichen. Die Geschicklichkeit des Bedieners im Umgang mit der Düse ist entscheidend, um die Qualität des Spritzbetons zu gewährleisten. 
Beim Auftragen von Spritzbeton im Trockenmischverfahren werden zunächst Zement und feuchte Gesteinskörnungen gemischt, dann wird die Mischung in einen Zubringer geleitet und mit einem Druckluftstrom durch einen Schlauch befördert.
Bei Erreichen der Förderdüse wird Wasser unter Druck in die trockene Mischung injiziert und verwandelt sie in nassen Beton, der zum Sprühen bereit ist.
Beim Nassmischspritzbetonverfahren werden die trockenen Zutaten und das Wasser vermischt, bevor sie in die Fördertechnik verladen werden.
Dieses nasse Gemisch wird dann pneumatisch durch einen Schlauch gefördert, und an der Förderdüse wird Druckluft eingeleitet, um die Geschwindigkeit zu erhöhen, mit der das Gemisch projiziert wird.

Spritzbeton ist eine spezielle Technik, bei der Mörtel oder feinkörniger Beton mit hohem Zementanteil mit hoher Geschwindigkeit auf eine Oberfläche gespritzt wird. Durch die Aufprallkraft wird das Material verdichtet und kann an vertikalen oder über Kopf liegenden Flächen haften, ohne abzusacken. Bei dieser Technik wird der Spritzbeton stufenweise geschichtet, bis er eine Dicke von etwa 10,16 Zentimetern erreicht. Die Fähigkeiten des Bedieners im Umgang mit der Düse sind ausschlaggebend für die Qualität des Spritzbetons. Spritzbeton wird zum Bau von Tunnelauskleidungen, Schalen- und Flachdächern, Spannbetontanks, zur Stabilisierung von Hängen, zum Bau von Schwimmbädern und zur Restaurierung beschädigter Betonkonstruktionen verwendet.


 Es gibt zwei Hauptverfahren zum Auftragen von Spritzbeton, nämlich das Trockenspritz- und das Nassspritzverfahren. Beim Trockenspritzverfahren wird zunächst Zement mit feuchtem Zuschlagstoff vermischt. Diese Mischung wird dann in die Betonspritzmaschine gegeben und mit Druckluft durch einen Schlauch getrieben. Beim Erreichen der Spritzdüse wird der Mischung unter Druck stehendes Wasser zugesetzt, wodurch sie in Nassbeton umgewandelt wird, der dann auf die Struktur gespritzt wird. Beim Nassspritzverfahren hingegen werden alle Bestandteile, einschließlich Wasser, vorgemischt, bevor sie in die Betonspritzmaschine geladen werden. Dieser vorgemischte Nassbeton wird pneumatisch durch einen Schlauch zur Düse befördert, wo Druckluft eingeblasen wird, um die Kraft zu erhöhen, mit der der Spritzbeton auf die Oberfläche aufgetragen wird.

Shotcrete is a concrete spraying method used on vertical and overhead surfaces. It uses mortar or small aggregate concrete with a high cement content. The material is sprayed at high velocity, and the impact helps compact it so it can cling without sagging.

Builders place shotcrete in layers until it reaches about 4 inches thick. The quality depends strongly on the operator’s skill in managing the nozzle. Careful nozzle control helps the material land evenly and build up properly.

Shotcrete is used for tunnel linings, shell and flat roofs, pre-stressed concrete tanks, slope stabilization, swimming pools, and repairing damaged concrete structures. These uses show why the method is useful for both new construction and restoration.

There are two main application methods: dry mix and wet mix. In dry mix, cement is first combined with moist aggregate, then sent through a hose by compressed air. Water is added at the nozzle, which turns the mix into wet concrete just before it is sprayed.

In wet mix, all ingredients, including water, are blended before they enter the delivery system. The pre-mixed wet concrete is moved pneumatically through a hose to the nozzle. There, compressed air is injected to increase the force of application onto the surface.
