Die genaue Messung des Luftgehalts im Beton erfolgt durch den Einsatz verschiedener Methoden, die auf der Zusammensetzung des Betons und den Projektanforderungen basieren.
Bei der Druckmethode wird beispielsweise eine Betonprobe in eine geschlossene Kammer gegeben und der Luftgehalt auf der Grundlage der Druckänderungen berechnet.
Für Betone, die leicht sind oder stark saugende Gesteinskörnungen enthalten, ist das volumetrische Verfahren besser geeignet.
Bei der volumetrischen Methode wird einer Betonprobe Alkohol zugesetzt, um die Luftblasen freizusetzen, und dann die Volumenänderung gemessen.
Bei einer anderen Methode, der gravimetrischen Methode, wird die Dichte des Betons gemessen, um den Luftgehalt zu berechnen.
Alternativ bietet die Chace-Indikatormethode einen schnellen Feldtest, der ein ungefähres Maß für den Luftgehalt liefert, indem die Änderung des Luftvolumens in einem spritzenähnlichen Gerät beobachtet wird, wenn es in den Beton gepresst wird.

Sie misst den Luftgehalt durch Beobachtung der Volumenänderung in einer Beton-Alkohol-Mischung.


 Die gravimetrische Methode berechnet den Luftgehalt durch Bestimmung des spezifischen Gewichts des Betons und eignet sich für präzise wissenschaftliche Analysen, wird jedoch im Alltag weniger häufig eingesetzt. Schließlich bietet die Chace Indicator-Methode eine schnelle, ungefähre Messung mit einem spritzenähnlichen Gerät zur Beurteilung von Luftvolumenänderungen im Beton, was für sofortige Feldtests nützlich ist.


 Die Wahl der richtigen Methode hängt von den Eigenschaften des Betons, den Projektanforderungen und den verfügbaren Werkzeugen ab. Die strikte Einhaltung der ASTM-Verfahren gewährleistet Genauigkeit und Konsistenz der Messungen.
